The Cobra 142 GTL was and still to this day, a very popular cb radio.  The Cobra 142 GTL line was the little cousin of Cobra's flagship radio, the 2000 GTL.  This base station model was also very sought after, and in the same league (if not higher) as the Uniden President Washington.  This radio came with tons of audio, and was easy to modify and tune.  It had a full size feel, that many CB operators still envy and miss to this day.

The Cobra 142 GTL was a full sized AM and SSB base station transceiver and also had dual meters, however did not come with the full size clock (and alarm) and a frequency counter readout, as found in the more expensive 2000 GTL model.  Unfortunately, this base cb radio  is no longer made today, however 20 years later, still sells at a premium price due to it's high demand even to this day.
