Uniden President Madison

The Uniden President Madison was both the flagship base station for both President and later Uniden when they
bought out their line. Both Madison lines are basically the same radio, except for
Uniden later had some chip changes which caused the mods to be a little different. Prior to ending
their production, the very late Uniden Washington models had a digital alarm style clock, however it's
rare to find them so. Most models of this series had a regular analog flip style clock.

The Uniden President Madison was a competitor to the Cobra 2000 GTL and they were made during the same
timeframe. Both radios had similar features with a solid, potent size, however the Madison did not have
a frequency counter (clock only).
The Uniden President Madison's receive and transmit audio is superb and it has a very large and solid
feel. These radios seem to be reliable even to this day, as most are still ticking as
they did when they're were new except for minor mishaps. The exception, is that about 70% of the
time the clocks in these base stations are no longer working, (but who needs an alarm clock built into a cb
radio anyways?). The other thing to look out for, is whether or not they come with the matching external
speaker. These are often sold without the speaker, however they often look and sound better with the
matching speaker. Back in the 1980s and 1990s, the top of the line base station cb radios often used a
matching President Madison external speaker design.
